I can't decide whether the pieces want to all join, pulling up into a sort of vessel form, or continue to spread out like pieces of a peeled orange that are still connected to each other.

It may be hard to imagine, but the first shot shows what will end up being part of the interior, as the front left curls up and is joined with knotting to the front right. The second shot shows a bit of what that side of the exterior will look like.
